I’ve been asked a few times since I started this blog, if I can reccomend any books on holiday home rentals or holiday home investment generally. Below are the 3 books that I rate highest from the dozen or so “real books” that I have read.

Overseas Property Purchase Book Reviews

How to Rent Vacation Properties by Owner – I was a bit hesitant about buying this because it is from the USA but I did and I have no regrets. In fact this book is top of my list. Firstly because the advice it gives is priceless and gives you a real insight into what holiday home renters loook for in a property. Secondly because if you haven’t already bought a property and you read and learn from everything here you will make a much more informed buying choice.

The Jet-to-Let Bible - Gives an excellent grounding to overseas property from an investment point of view. Good level of detail over 500 pages including country by country profiles. It is over 2 years old but to offset this there is a free subscription to a magazine available which provides analysis of more recent trends.

Another “essential” guide to overseas property purchase is Where to Buy Property Abroad 2009. The investment analysis is top drawer and covers currency and foreign exchange, how to analyse markets and how best to assess opportunities. The bulk of the book is given over to country by country analysis.
